Your UAE Visa Is Approved — Now What? (Pre-Travel Checklist)
10 things to do between visa approval and boarding your flight to Dubai or Abu Dhabi. Avoid airport surprises.
Congratulations — your UAE e-visa just landed in your inbox. But you're not done yet. Here's the 10-step pre-travel checklist our team gives every approved applicant.
Before you fly
1. Print TWO colour copies of your e-visa. Keep one in your hand luggage.
2. Save a digital copy in your phone wallet (Apple Wallet / Google Wallet).
3. Confirm your hotel reservation can be shown at Immigration.
4. Buy travel insurance — UAE Immigration occasionally checks at the desk.
5. Download the GDRFA app to track entry/exit history later.
6. Get an eSIM (Etisalat or du) — much cheaper than roaming.
7. Carry at least $240 cash equivalent or a working credit card.
8. Check your medication is legal in UAE (some painkillers are restricted).
9. Dress modestly at the airport and during airport transfers.
10. Note your visa's expiry date — overstays cost AED 50 per day.
